Movie in 1980s about an Asian guy failing miserably trying to be like Bruce Lee...?

I remember he was supposed to be a Chinese guy, but the movie was an American comedy. It was set in the 1980s. One scene where he was up against thugs, so he took the candy glass he made earlier, and told the thugs it's glass. He then ate it.
