Skull Candy Headphones?

Don't get me wrong, I love these headphones but i am seriously tired of them always dying with in 2-4 months. My very first pair lasted six. I have no idea how. My second only a couple months. My third only a month. My fourth only three. The new pair I got for christmas, just stopped working after skipping each time the wire was juusstt the wrong way (the same way all my others died). I do not abuse these headphones. They never get stepped on or tossed around so I don't understand why this keeps happening to me while everyone else says theirs lasts them months. I also buy the $20 ones and the problem still occured. Any suggestions to help keep it from happening and why it is happening?
